Growing a better world together is a
powerful description of our vision for the
future. Everyday our colleagues around
the world are using our knowledge and
network to help our clients to grow and
achieve their ambitions.
The'grow'aspect of our mission is a logical
expression of our agricultural roots as well
as our ambitions for clients and employees.
By helping our clients to grow, we grow as
colleagues, teams and individuals.
Clients often say that it's the combination
of our knowledge and network that makes
Rabobank unique. We do indeed have a
unique network and knowledge of the
sectors our clients are active in, across the
entire Food Agri value chain around the
world and in the leading sectors in the
Netherlands. We continue to see the impact
of new data technologies, digitalisation,
industry convergences and changing
consumer trends. In the Food Agri sector
the consumer's influence is growing;'from
farm to fork' is becoming 'from fork to
farm'. We already have tools in place to
deal with these changes - like our Client
Advisory Boards in each region - but the
rapid pace of change means that we really
need to stay on top of these dynamics.
Innovation is key for securing our future
growth. FHelping our clients innovate
is one of our key priorities. We have
conducted our initial proof of concept in
blockchain with our technology partner
and the first transactions with clients are
expected soon. We strengthened our
'ecosystem'approach to clients, bringing
many parties together to look for solutions
in their sectors: for example, pilots for
animal nutrition in the Netherlands
and organic grain in the US are up and
running. Developments in the industry and
consumer trends make it essential that we
look beyond our traditional stakeholders
to deepen our understanding and build
relationships throughout the broader
ecosystem in which our clients operate.
We serve our clients better and more
effectively when we work as one bank.
I'm delighted to see this togetherness
expressed in the new mission and the way
we are working together in the Managing
Board. I feel that we are making tangible
progress in running the organisation as
one Rabobank.
