The loan portfolio of the local Rabobanks decreased. This was, amongst others, due to additional repayments on private residential mortgages, in addition to the contractual repayments, and the low level of new loans to businesses. The distribution of the loan portfolio was: 74% in the Netherlands, 10% in North America, 3% in Latin America, 6% in Europe (outside the Netherlands), 5% in Australia and New Zealand and 2% in other countries.
