Sustainable ICT Paper Rabobank is helping to bridge the digital gulf between developed and developing countries. In connection with this, in 2012 Rabobank Nederland signed an agreement with Close the Gap. Every year, Rabobank will donate around 15,000 computers that have been written off for use in education in developing countries. In addition, Rabobank will contribute a maximum of EUR 150,000 over a period of three years towards e-waste recovery, so that electronic waste can be responsibly recycled to produce components. Bank statements issued by Rabobank are printed on both sides of the page. Rabobank is the first bank in the Netherlands to do this. The number of A4-sized bank statements fell to 116 million (155 million), while there was a 16% fall to 77 million in the number of envelopes containing bank statements due to increased use of computers. 27 Environment and operations
