Member bank of the year
24 Rabobank Group Annual Report 2004
Membership policy
Tools for banks
At a central level, a number of tools were developed in 2004 to help
the local banks achieve their membership targets. The local Rabobanks
received the first Membership Theme Report in December 2004, which
contains information for the banks on the development of a number of
indicators relating to membership policy. It enables the banks to:
objectively measure if their targets in the year plan are being
achieved;
formulate concrete actions for improvement based on past
developments;
benchmark with other local banks;
bring the importance and development of the membership policy to
the attention of staff.
Another 'Member bank of the year' competition was held in 2004. The
member bank with the best initiative in the area of member control is
elected monthly. Out of these winners, the best bank is elected member
bank of the year, this year's winner being Rabobank Land van Cuijk
Noord. This bank took the initiative to contact its members and organi
sed 15 meetings in 15 different places. Based on the opinions voiced by
more than 500 members, an action plan was drawn up that the mem
bers could use to make sure that the bank kept to its agreements.
All local initiatives entered for the member bank competition were
gathered in a book entitled 'Learning from members', which was
presented to the banks at the General Meeting held in June 2004.
