Bogert: "Basically, it boils down to running virtual teams that
gel together. There are specific RMs from Hans' team who are
dedicated to Rabobank Schiphol. They know my staff, they
know our clients and they know our network. They take part
in internal meetings here at Schiphol, so we have created
virtual teams. But it's not just the RMs who arefamiliarfaces
around the Schiphol offices. Product specialists, such as a
treasury consultant, will spend one day every week or two
weeks with us. They're then part of the buzz, and my staff
automatically make them part of the team and start discussing
market propositions with them. We understand the
importance of high visibility, and know that a chance remark
or quick conversation can lead to a new opportunity."
For Hans van Hooren, the relationship between Rl and
the member banks is a win-win situation. He's clear that,
ultimately, Rabobank's clients are the main beneficiaries, and
that's the outcome the bank always aims for. Van Hooren:
"I hope that we inspire each other. And if we can continue to
combine cliënt intimacy at a local level with an international
level of service and expertise, then we will continue to inspire
our clients. What is clear is that our role is here to stay. Member
banks are structured in such a way that they will continue to
need our support within this field, and as cliënt demands
