As Rabobank works towards its goal of becoming the leading wholesale bank in the Netherlands, Jeroen Broeknellis, Director of Wholesale at member bank Rabobank Schiphol, Jan van den Bogert, Manager Corporate Banking at member bank Rabobank Schiphol, and Hans van Hooren, Region Manager Corporate Clients, region North West Netherlands at Rabobank International, discuss the support Rabobank International provides to Rabobank Schiphol's corporate clients. Rabobank Schiphol's coverage area includes the world's largest flower auction, in nearby Aalsmeer. Seamless cooperation between Rabobank International (Rl) and the bank's stakeholders in the Netherlands is a critical element in achieving sustainable market leadership in the country, one of the strategie goals laid down by the Executive Board. For those member banks whose corporate clients require wholesale banking products, a close and fruitful relationship with Rl is already a reality. With nine regional teams working across the Netherlands, RI's Corporate Clients Netherlands department works on behalf of, and in close cooperation with, the member banks. Regional teams, such as the one headed by Hans van Hooren in Amsterdam, act as linking pins between the member banks and the products available within Rl. The teams help translate the needs of clients from member banks and use their expertise to try to find the right products internally, acting as guides. Strict governance structures ensure that the member banks themselves book all deals, which frees up Corporate Clients Netherlands to concentrate on adding value through their expertise and execution capabilities. issue 28 Rl WORLD
