Not only was Moy Park impressed with the speed
and the quality of the solution, their parent company
Marfrig was also very happy with how the deal went.
"So in addition to being a great introduction to Moy
Park, which we think will be a key F&A cliënt for
Rabobank in Europe, this deal has also helped us to
deepen our relationship with Marfrig. Moy Park and
Marfrig are now interested in discussing a number of
opportunities with us, including leasing, receivables
fïnancing and hedging," Doheny says.
The Moy Park deal is a clear sign of just how effective
the combination of RI's cliënt relationships and De
Lage Landen's product expertise can be. However,
Henry and Doheny add, while this is a great example
of how the Rl network and cliënt coverage model
should work, it was almost an example of how easy
it is to miss opportunities. Rl relocated coverage of
Northern Ireland to Dublin in October, in an effort
to be closer to Northern Ireland market. "We had a
lot ofcatching up to do afterthe move. We missed
the receivables business and we could easily have
missed the leasing deal if we hadn't been able to
move so quickly. It shows that we really have to cover
all relationship bases, all the time. You can't afford
to take your eye off the ball even for a moment. It's
quite simple, really. If you don't ask, you won't get
the business," Henry says.
