Rabobank sponsored the International
Dairy Federation World Dairy Summit in
New Zealand in early November, which
saw the publication of the 2010 FAR
Global Dairy Outlook. The report, which
was presented to more than 2,000 clients
and prospects throughout Australia and
New Zealand, explained that there has
been a major structural shift in the world
dairy industry.
One of the report's co-authors, FAR's Global
Dairy Team Leader, Tim Hunt, said the
arrival of China and India as major buyers on

In 2008 Rl World changed its direction to focus more
on strategy and content. But what do readers really
think of the magazine? We lacked objective, up-to-date
knowledge about this. That's why we asked for your
input in the autumn of 2010.
In general, readers are pleased with Rl World, giving
it an average score of 6.9 on a scale of 1 to 10. The
magazine is read primarily to keep up with what
is happening within Rabobank International and the
developments the bank is facing. More than three-
quarters of our readers think that Rl World is an
important internal communication tooi and that there
is a good balance between topics related to Wholesale
Banking and those related to Rural Retail Banking.
However, many readers think that the articles could
be a lot more discerning. They also think that articles
covering different regions could be better balanced,
and that there could be more focus on stories taken
from day-to-day experience.
All this means that there is room for improvement.

feed costs, the challenge of
building safe supply chains

sufficiency a 'Herculean' task," said Hunt.
While uncertainty remains high, it is anti-
cipated that the global dairy market will
again remain tight in 2011, given higher
