jects qualify? Essentially, those
deals which were executed
successfully, impressed the
cliënt, involved more than
one team working together,
showed cross-border colla
boration, and involved more
than one product or service.
Additionally, the deal has to
have overcome challenges,
demonstrated innovation and
resulted in clear benefits.
One project that ticked all
the boxes was a deal carried
out for the Sunshine Raisin
Corporation, a processor of
dried fruits based in California.
An Rl cliënt for 15 years, the
company needed to refinance
its bilateral credit lines in 2009.

One of the issues that all new business tools
have to face is employee acceptance, and
Jan van Nieuwenhuizen is under no illusions
about the new platforms. "It'll take effort to
get the information into the systems and to
get them up to speed and working as we hope.
But once the projects are up and running
properly, they'll be able to deliver on their
potential. Therefore, we need the commit-
ment from everybody to embrace the
systems and input data, deals and cliënt
information. If we use these tools the way
we should, the benefits will be tremendous
and they will undoubtedly boost our ability
to service clients."
