Exchanging information in a
timely and accurate way is vital
when seizing available business
opportunities. Jan van Nieuwen-
huizen explains that both Giobal
Deal Communication and Act
Together are platforms that will
help employees uncover the skills
and capabilities available within
the bank, while also unlocking
the needs of clients. "Firstly,
I think both platforms will help all
of us within the bank understand
just how rich a resource base we
have access to. Secondly, they
will enable colleagues to see
the types of transactions we're
involved with and who our clients
are. Clearly, the aim is that the
tools will give all of us a heads-
up on what's going on, enabling
everyone to get involved in
deal-making processes at an
earlier stage than we perhaps
do currently. And for cliënt
situations, the aim is that we'll
engage quickly and accurately.
In other words, we'll be able to
work out what kind of team is
best able to help the cliënt with
their issues, and then find the
right solutions based on sector
know-how, product know-how,
and regional know-how. Atop-
drawer professional engagement
process is our goal, and that'll
involve choosing both the correct
process and the correct team to
best serve the cliënt. And I think
both these tools can help in that
process."
Rob van Zadelhoff expects the
Global Deal Communication
platform to provide employees
with a wealth of transactional
information, and believes it will
be both an effective internal
and external tooi. "We can on
occasion be too timid about
what our ambitions are, what
we've actually achieved and the
roles we play with our clients. So
I very much hope that Global
Deal Communication will also be
used to develop a more active
dialogue with our clients. We
can get in touch and explain to
them: This is a transaction we
did for another cliënt. It might
be interesting for you. I'd love to
talk to you about it'. So I envisage
the tooi working in two ways.
Firstly, to improve the internal
communication process and
reduce the spillage of know
how. And secondly, to increase
our positioning with our clients."
