More than 140 guests attended the event at Te Papa in Wellington, New Zealand, including the Honourable David Carter, New Zealand's Minister of Agriculture; Murray Sherwin, Direc- tor General, Ministry of Agriculture Forestry; Don Nicholson, Chairman, Federated Farmers of New Zealand; and other key clients, food and agri- business leaders, and Dutch contacts from around New Zealand. Rabobank Australia and New Zealand Chief Executive Ofhcer Thos Gieskes said the Te Papa provided a memo- rable and relaxing backdrop for catching up with the bank's key New Zealand clients and contacts. 'The Board now has a deeper understand- ing of the aspirations and challenges of our clients," he said. 'They in turn appreciated hearing firsthand how the bank is performing globally." What? NAAAB meeting When15-17 September 2010 Where? New Orleans, United States Rabobank International has once again held its meeting of the North American Agribusiness Advisory Board (NAAAB). The Rabobank advisory board is com- prised of influential executives from Food and Agribusiness (F&A) sectors critical to Rabobank's North American strategy. The board also includes key people from policy and governmental institutions, which provides broader input on central Advisory Board member Mr Bucklin, Executive Vice President, Rl North America Wholesale F&A themes. While there is no set term for board membership, most serve between 3-5 years. The board meets annually for two full days, which usually includes an opening welcome event. Although the board carries no fiduci- ary or other legal obligations, the meeting gives Rabobank board members a unique opportunity to engage with key opinion leaders and business magnates in lively, off-the record discussions. It helps Rabobank to better understand the critical dynamics of the complex world we call F&A. The meetings are generally in the early autumn or late spring, although this can vary, depending on the year. The venue annually rotates between Canada, Mexico, the United States and Europe.
