On 28 March 2009, the WWF organised
Earth Hour, an 'election' that encouraged
businesses and members of the public around
the world to use their light switch as their
vote - switching off their lights was a vote for
Earth, while leaving them on was a vote for
global warming. Rabobank's Corporate Social
Responsibility (CSR) committees in various
Asian countries encouraged stafftojoin in thé
initiative, by distributing fact sheets on Earth
Hour and candles. WWF urged the world to
Vote Earth and reach the target of 1 billion
votes, which will be presented to world leaders
at the Global Climate Change Conference in
Copenhagen later in the year.

Rabobank's Food Agribusiness
Research and Advisory (FAR) unit
signed a deal with the organisers of
VIV Conferences in February 2008
to be the knowledge partner for
VIV activities worldwide. VIV is the
International Trade Fair for Intensive
Animal Production. This partnership
entails Rabobank providing speakers
for the various VIV conferences and
also sharing of relevant FAR reports.
The VIV Asia 2009 event which took
place in Bangkok from 11-13 March
2009, is the fïrst VIV event for this
year. Upcoming events that will
benefit from Rabobank's involvement
as a knowledge partner include VIV
Russia 2009 on May 26-28, VIV China
2009 on October 19-21, followed
by VIV India 2010 on 1 -3 February
2010 and VIV Europe 2010 on 20-22
April 2010.

Rabobank is the lead sponsor of the Food Safety Roundtable: Promoting Quality in
the Global Food Chain, that takes place on 27-28 April 2009, at the Commune by
the Great Wall Kempinski Resort, near Beijing in China. Rabobank staff will speak at
the Roundtable, and will host a panel discussion made up of some of Rabobank's
key clients from within the F&A sector.
