AND THE GREEN FLEET AWARD 2007 GOES TO RABOBANK
The Netherlands - Rabobank has placed itself in the 2007 edition of
'CoolBrands from the Netherlands'. "Rabobank was selected not so
much for being cool, but more so because of the high quality strate-
gies used in its most recent brand repositioning", explained Mr Willet
of CoolBrands.
Indonesia - Monday 29 October sawthe opening of the Pekanbaru Branch in central Sumatra, Indonesia.
The bank - the 90th branch of Hagabank/Bank Hagakita - will serve the needs of the fast-growing region of
Pekanbaru, which is rich in palm oil, natural oil and timber.
New Zealand - RaboPlus.co.nz won the first 'Best in Show' title at the prestigious Effie's awards - the Oscars of
the advertising industry - which were held on 11 October. In addition, RaboPlus took home the Gold award in the
'New Product or Service Introduction' category. RaboPlus
owed this second victory largely to the successful 'Your
Significant Other Bank' campaign, which resulted in NZ$1.3
billion in deposits over an 18-month period.
The competition was fierce - companies such as Vodafone,
Wespact and House of Travel, all strong brands with a long
corporate history in New Zealand. The RaboPlus team and its creative
agency Ogilvy were understandably proud of the results. Not only did the
RaboPlus team go home with two new bronze statues, but they also gained
NZ$100,000 in free broadcasting time onTelevision New Zealand.

The Netherlands - Fleet Business magazine has presented Rabobank with Europe's first ever Green Fleet Innovation award!
Rabobank won the European award thanks to its innovative ABC-mobility programme, a joint effort between Rabobank Nederland
and De Lage Landen Translease. Due to this initiative, Rabobank's lease fleet at De Lage Landen already includes over 5000 'green' cars.
Subsidiaries Schretlen and Robeco are also participating partners. By the end of last June, 65% of the entire fleet of Rabobank Nederland
and the local banks had an A, B or C label. This effectively means there was a reduction of 1150 tons in C02 emissions in 2006. Rabobank
also encou rages its employees to choose the train as an alternative means of transport by offering them a ND Business Card.
