A number of forces are reshaping Rabobank
International's Global Security. Jean-Christophe
Gaillard, Managing Director Global Security, talks
about how the bank protects its people and its
people protect the bank, in a time of rapid growth.
'Global Security comprises Information
Security, to secure information, Business
Security, to safeguard all functional proc-
esses, and Physical Security to protect all
physical assets and employees,' explains
Gaillard. 'As a result of what we see happen
ing in the world today, security as a whole
is becoming more and more complex, and
regulators have been forced to become
more prescriptive in the implementation of
security measures. This means that regula-
tory pressure has been greatly increased,
which affects us at Rabobank as well as
most other institutions.'
Trends in the market are changing too.
'Our traditional business perimeter is
disappearing: we are becoming increas-
ingly reliant on external parties to provide
a number of key services we used to carry
