The Rabobank Development
Program improves access to
financial services for farmers,
Small and Medium-sized
Enterprises, and individuals in
developing countries, just as
Rabobank did in the Netherlands
during the last century. It does
so by developing rural banks in
countries where agriculture is the
cornerstone of the economy.
Developing countries are so called for a reason: the
term implies that they are improving economically.
Where better to pursue Rabobank's chief aim of
enabling people to participate fully and independently
in economie iife?
To this end, Rabobank launched the Rabobank
Development Program (RDP) in late 2004, with the
core aim of building 'leading rural banks' in developing
countries. Similar in reach and purpose to the local
Rabobanks in the Netherlands, these banks are vital for
the rural economy of their countries.
