Rolling out across Europe

developments reported in these news

Award because the innovative way we
structure the news feeds means staff
are not overloaded with reports on
clients they never talk to; instead they
only see news that relates specifically
to their clients.'
By the end of the year, the new Rabobank
dotcom site should be fully operational.
The Electronic Distribution Wholesale
team is looking forward to this moment,
as the site will be the final link between
Radar and the cliënt. These days, clients
expect one port of entry where they can
conduct all their business and then leave.
They don't want to log on to multiple
sites,' says Doorn. 'We already have a huge
amount of cliënt information; our next
challenge is to use the current Radar tech-
nology and hardware to create a cliënt
transaction system within Rabobank.com.'
Clients will be able to visit the (unsecured)
dotcom site, before logging in to a secure
online environment. Here, they will be
able to carry out money market, foreign
exchange, financial logistics transactions
and so on. 'The cliënt information we
have in Radar will be re-used in the secure
part of the website,' says Van Koningsveld
'So not only can all members of a cliënt
team see who is serving that cliënt in
Radar, clients will also be able to see this
information as 'My Rabo contacts' on the
website. They will have the option to call,
email or chat with any of these contacts,
or immediately inform us if any of the
details we have for them need updating.'
It is hoped that the site will eventually
enable clients to conduct the majority
of their day-to-day business electroni-
cally, freeing up account managers and
product specialists to concentrate on
increasing cross-sell even further.
Now that the Netherlands and Dublin are both using Radar successfully, which European
countries will be next? Hugo Henraat, Implementation Manager European Rollout, explains:
'Every time we launch a new office, the implementation process becomes more and more
streamlined. Based on our experiences in the Netherlands and Dublin, we have also put
together a step-by-step implementation guide. This means that the offices coming next,
which we anticipate will begin with Paris and Milan and end with London because it is
the biggest, can start using the system even faster than has previously been the case. And
because Radar is web-based, no software installation is required.'
Although many Rabobank International employees have been aware of Radar's existence for
some time, and may even have used it, the European rollout in the second half of this year
provided the perfect opportunity to launch the portal offïcially.'We were asked to present
Radar at the European General Managers' meeting held on 25 and 25 September in Istanbul,'
says Henraat.'But of course, Europe isn't the only region that can benefit from the system. In
the coming months, we'll also be approaching General Managers in Asia and the Americas
with a view to rolling out there in 2007.'
