2006-2010: Ambition,
realism and sustainability
Executive Board Chairman Bert Heemskerk
has big plans for the future. His Strategie
Framework 2006-2010 focuses on growing
Rabobank into a global leader by building
on its solid past.
Unique positioning
By introducing a revised strategie framework,
Heemskerk and the other members of the Board
envisage Rabobank becoming a world leader in the
coming years - a modern bank with modern products,
delivered by a new breed of internationally-oriented
bankers. This vision is anchored in specifïc objectives:
to retain and develop the bank's existing position as
the number one retail bank in the Netherlands, to
achieve leadership in F&A banking worldwide, and to
promote sustainability through healthy growth and
profitability. With a visit to London in July and trips
to the other regions planned for the coming months,
Heemskerk has begun a tour to discuss implementa-
tion of the 2006-2010 strategy with each of the
Regional Heads (see sidebar).
Rabobank is already the largest retail bank in the
Netherlands, serving over nine million individuals
and Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs).
