implemented a very successful tooi for security awareness on our intranet - it's
a humorous, animated film showing users the best practices they should

'Security awareness is a main issue for the 2005 Utrecht security initiative.
Many people do not realise that security policies are ultimately for their
benefit. I am developing a campaign to use intranet, posters, screen savers,
cartoons, and the like to make the message more enjoyable.'

'One of my biggest fears is that we fall victim to what we call a "zero-day attack,"
where we are the unfortunate first recipiënt of some new malicious code or
virus. To mitigate this, we are taking measures so that if one infiltrates our
network, it is quickly detected and contained before it spreads anywhere else.'
'We have implemented a successful approach to enhance responsibility towards
security; a security course followed by a multiple-choice test. Mock security
attacks are also used during the course to demonstrate how vulnerable we are
and this helps staff to take security more seriously.'
