The annual Global Security Seminar brought together Rabobank International Security Officers from all regions and from affiliates such as BGZ Bank and Bank Sarasin. This year, the seminar was held at the end of June at the Head Office in Utrecht. It provided a forum in which to discuss issues, strategies and effective tools for ensuring that the bank and its information are well-protected. The Word met with a number of the Officers to find out what they gained from the seminar, and what concerns keepthem awake at night. Brigid Dunne, ACC Bank (Ireland) Information Systems Security Officer: Teresa Kaminska, BGZ Bank (Poland) Security Office Manager: Ideas for G oba Security 'The focus of our security initiatives at ACC Bank includes security awareness and security monitoring. Most monitoring is currently preformed manualiy, and this should be automated to be more effective. With regards to Security Awareness, it is always important to reinforce the message within the business that IT, Physical and Environmental security are key to the efficiënt and secure workings of the bank.' 'I hope to piek up some ideas for security monitoring system implementation. I know that's a priority for my global colleagues, so l'm sure together we can find a good solution. Manual monitoring of system security is simply unreliable, which is a risk. I am also looking for some help to implement an identity management system. We discussed single sign-on solutions for some areas, because multiple sign-ons force people to have multiple passwords that they invariably write down, creating a security weakness.'
