ACC Bank was acquired in February 2002.
Once the acquisition took place, Rabobank
International (RI) adopted the flexible attitude of
guide and advisor, working with ACC Bank to contin
ue the change management process that was already
in motion to enable the bank to refocus on the most
fertile market segments. This visible level of RI buy-in
helped significantly in maintaining momentum and
building relationships within the Group.
Two years prior to acquisition, ACC Bank (est. 1927)
determined that Food and Agribusiness, Small-to-
Medium-Enterprise (SMFi) business and high-value
consumer business offered 'the highest return of core
profit before tax' (PBT) for theni within the Irish mar
ket. 'Opportunities within the Irish banking rnarket-
place center on the SME sector,' explains Mike
Geoghegan, Director of Banking at ACC Bank.
'With RI's support, it has been possible to achieve
