GLOBAL CONFERENCE
Zoned workshops were created for delegates at
the GFM London event. While on the surface it
may have seemed like fun and games, on a deeper
level these zones showcased the key areas for
discussion and improvement. Follow up to this
event will include further discussion about these
topics. Fiere is an overview of the zones.

'Live' (internal and external) clients provided direct feedback in tour 'dient zones' to
help delegates see things from the dient's perspective. Issues raised induded the selec-
tion criteria that clients use for financial services providers and ideal service models.
These zones provided an objective insight into what clients actually want. Honesty,
faster response times and after-sales service were focal points. Justin Sliney, New York
Swaps Desk, found this zone was informative because: 'I don't have much daily contact
with clients as l'm on the trading side, so it was great to hear exactly what clients think
and need.' (Read about dients'feedback on pages 18 19.)
Taking on the role of tenacious news reporters, delegates interrogated management
with questions relating to GFM's strategy.Sarah Mason from London Securitization said
it was a unique opportunity to ask a broad range of questions. 'There wasn't one main
theme so I was able to ask things about our AAA rating, our F&A focus and dealing with
large corporates.' A Q&A summary, induding questions and answers discussed at the
first event, will be uploaded to the GFM intranet in coming weeks - stay tuned.
This zone was open to delegates to familiarize themselves with various support tools
available to GFM. These tools include Rabo Treasury Web, Rabo Deal Assist, BORIS (order
routing and management system), Rabobank Deal Station, Price Platform ELVIS
(for publishing Rabobank prices internally and externally) and Partiele (a system for
derivatives risk and trade management). Andrew Millet, Head of Treasury and Capital
Market Sales for Australia/New Zealand said, 'Although Australia needs a systems
upgrade to be able to make use of many of these products, it was useful to have an
overview of the services and products available.'
