Advisor for Wholesale who lias worked
for Rabobank since 1997. 'The colors in
the photo really liven up the second
floor and the tulips give it a very Dutch
flavour. Visitors always make positive
remarks about this picture.'
'To be honest, I don't really spend much
time looking at the photographs. In fact,
the modern furniture in this new build
ing has made more of an impression on
me,' admits Irma Blaauw, Secretary RI
Corporate Finance Manager. 'However,
if I had to choose a favorite photo it
would be "3rd Avenue" (page 10).
The movement of the wind and trees in
the photo makes it stand out from the
rest. I am enjoying working in this new
building because it's smaller and much
cosier.'
'My favorite photograph, without a
doubt, is Calle Crespa(this page):
a photograph of a narrow street taken
at night. I like the particular combina-
tion of the colors of the buildings and
the color of the light; and the atmos-
phere this photograph creates,' explains
Arnold Kuijpers, a member of the
Corporate Clients' Management Team
who has been witli Rabobank for
almost 23 years. 'The new building may
not be very exciting from the outside,
but inside it is bright and contemporary.'
So, when next visiting the RI and CC
headquarters, take a closer look at the
photos gracing the walls. As one art
eritic eommented while vicwing Noor
Damen's work (page 12), observing art
gives you an opportunity to also observe
yourself. What aesthetic norms do you
use to judge art? And what do your
reactions say about you?
