Constructive criticism, creative ideas and,
most importantly, action programs - these
were the key components in a unique
event held at the end of June to drive our
F&A strategy onto the right track. In
some world regions, we have been hugely
successful in leveraging RI's agribusiness
franchise. But, as befits a 'global' F&A
bank, we need to translate that success
worldwide. Check out pages 14 and 15
for how that will happen.
The multi-domestic concept and a revised
proposal for integration of DG and R1 is
one of the hottest topics around. Wc
report on new joiners and an adjusted ap-
proach to our own joint venture based on
quick wins and solid foundations (see 8
through 12). One element of that ap-
proach is the DG acquisition of a 50%
stake in Rabo Securities - more on page 3.
Latin America is well on its way to recov-
cry front the crisis that hit in the late
1990s. We ask our people in Chile, Ar-
gentina and Mexico to talk us through
prospects.
We've also got lots of deals and other info
for you on events and activities happening
around the network. The letter inserted
into this issue of What's NewS comes
from APFT and asks for your help in sup-
porting a charity it has established. We
hope it will inspire you to join in, either
through activity or by donating to the
fund.
