You would be forgiven for thinking this
whole issue is an M&A special. In fact,
the emphasis on this type of deal is no
more than a reflection of what you're
doing out there. Even people not working
in dedicated M&A teams seem to be
doing this kind of business - a fine exam-
ple is the poultry deal closed by our
people in Sydney. They even picked up
corporate deal of the year for it (page 7).

You'U probably be wondering when we
will make good our promise to keep you
up to speed on DG-R1 joint venture
developments. The bottom line is that at
present electronic communication through
newSventure is much more efficiënt.
As soon as more decisions have been
made, we will be able to bring you back-
grounds and other deeper information. In
the meanwhile, we have extensive cover-
age of developments in the mid and large-
corporate domestic market - the launch of
RNCC is a milestone in service to these
customers - see pages 4 to 6 for more.
