All the economie signs were positive. Our people were optimistic. Then it all came tumbling down. In spite of disaster, co- workers in Istanbul were unanimous in wanting to communicate with you. That is why we changed the words we'd planned, but kept the pictures - with the addition of somc very recent images. See pages 8 and 9. Elsewherc in the network we have been looking at the business of morality and dialogue. A new body has been established to monitor the ethical side of our activities. The Ethics Committee is an organization-wide group. In contrast, the so-called Special Negotiating Body has a European scope, promoting dialogue between staff and senior management (pages 6 and 7). We've made no mention - as yet - of the strategie review. That's because it is cur- rently in a critical phase and just a little too early for publication - look out for our next issue... We do have a piece on reshuffle in GFM that has occupied Jonathan Larcdo and new head of trea- sury John Geensen (page S). The results of the spring readers' survey have now been analyzed and shaped into real recommen- dations (see pages 10 and 11). A lot of your suggestions - we hope you noticed - are already being implemented, both in the look and the way we report and write the issues that are important for you.
