Rabobank International, Antwerp
(Belgiinn) branch is right on Schedule with
their imminent September move to a
brand-new, modern facility. The branch
simply outgrew their current building -
operations were spread over seven floors
of a refurbished apartment building,
located in the centre of Antwerp. 'Office
space was small and our use of resources
impractical,' says Willy van den Houdt,
general manager. 'The new landscape style
layout, covering one and a half floors, will
allow consolidation of equipment, better
mternal communication and in general,
more efficiënt operations and flexibility
for the future.' Located on the ring of
Antwerp, the new four-building 'Rubens
Complex', is convenient for highway
traffic, especially travel to Brussels,
currently common within the bank. Rl
finds itself 'at home' in the company of
Group member Schretlen Co. and the
Dutch consulate; other occupants sharing
the new space. According to Tony de
Buysere, head of general services and
project head, staying within budget was
paramount. 'We are pleased to say that we

are on track at this point and anticipate
finishing the project under budget,' he
stated. Equally on schedule is current
work on the building, which, according to
Van den Houdt, must be finished on time.
'The move has been accelerated,
specifically due to millennium
considerations. There will be a lot of
work involved - for example, in order to
ensure year 2000 compliance, we can't
tolerate interruptions in IT systems any
later than September' he declared.
Business will continue as usual, and there
are no changes to staff or operations.
