concept was good news or bad news for
Rl, he sniiles, responding that it depends
on whether you're an optimist or a
pessimist. What are you? The smile

Interim chief of Rl for the past year, Rik van Slingelandt's new tasks within the
reshuffled executive board take him into what he describes as 'a crucial area
for the development of the whole Rabobank Group'. Now responsible for human
resources in all its forms, Van Slingelandt will be focusing on management
development and knowledge management from a Group perspective. Tm very
happy with this new opportunity,' he says. 'I think it is time we looked at issues
such as management development, training, management rotation and knowledge
management from a Group perspective. This role will give me a chance to
promote and stimulate these and other issues. It will also allow me to work more
closely on the human resources side of the organization. This is an area that has
always interested me. Now is my chance to participate in developing it.
