Merging into
the network
the back page
In the first of an occasional series on our increasingly
global groups, we dropped in on the mergers and
acquisitions (M&A) offsite held in London in mid-April.
A tight-packed, two-day program covered a host of key
issues for the M&A team which now has a complement of
55 in all major Rl offices. Hot topics induded developing
global strategy and improving already high
professionalism of a comparatively young group - many
of our M&A people are new hires. Among the latest
recruits are Daniël Hebert, who joined Rl as head of M&A
for the Americas last month. Global head
of M&A, Brian Havill, was also able to
announce the very recent arrival (April 8) I
of Emmanuel Durand who will be
managing the Latin American M&A P
operation. According to Havill, the
expansion of the team with professionals
of this calibre will reinforce RI's growing |r
presence in global M&A. Rl is already
beginning to win mandates ahead of
long-established names. Behind this
burgeoning success is a dear industry
knowledge that, Hebert says, gives us a
real edge in the marketplace. Add to that top flight
professionalism in execution and the mood of cautious
optimism at the offsite seems more than justified.
Look out for other global group meetings on the back page.
