Rabobank Frankfurt's
operations manager Gert Jan
van den Brink has recently
received the prestigious status
of doctorate following the
completion of his thesis
entitled 'The quality of
information and information
systems within the banking
sector'. Through various case
studies, Van den Brink
attempts to bridge the gap
between quality requirements
and cost efficiency and in
doing so builds a framework
of management information
specific to the banking sector.

Rl marketing is the new What's NewS editor-in-
chief, Mirjam Diepenbrock. Fully equipped with a
bachelors degree in Communications, she comes
from Dutch member bank Baarle-Nassau.While
her main responsibiiities will be the published
What's NewS as well as the electronic News Flash
version, Diepenbrock will also be involved in
various other internaI communication tools. She
will be taking over from Noor Tania, whose
dedication to What's NewS will be missed. We
wou ld like to thank Noor for her years of service
to Rl marketing and wish her all the best in
starting her own company. The editor-in-chief
change over will take place as of January I. For
those ofyou who have not yet had contact, the
rest of the editorial team doing their utmost to

Brazil's name change
Raibobank do Brasil Ltd is due
to change its name to Banco
Rabobank International Brasil
SA. Research suggests that
following almost a decade of
banking in Brazil, our core
dient group now readily
accepts the name Rabobank
and recognizes it as the
international F&A focused
bank with a triple-A rating, an
important status in the country
facing such economie
uncertainty. Following
managing board approval,
legal procedures for the name
change are currently
underway, but best guesses are
aiming for the new identity to
be in place byyear's end.
