Your chance to talk to the managing board
direct - What's NewS will be doing a roundtable
with the MB and Rik van Slingelandt on August
17. This is your chance to ask that burning
question. E-mail it to Noor Tania or fax to Anne
Lavelle on +31 20 6239538.
Checking out new technology - both information on Rl products
and services and the pilot for our new CD-Rom proved highly
poputar in Antwerp
Euromoney has awarded Rabobank 'best Dutch
borrower' of the year. Diversity, frequency and
innovation are among the criteria given for the
award. The authoritative fnanciai publication
was somewhat surprised that we are such a
relatively small borrower. 'For a bank which is
fast building its international and investment
banking businesses, the equivalent of USD 2.6
billion does not seem a huge amount. What it
does prove is that Rabobank does not allow
itselfto be put under the same pressure as some
of its rivais,' according to Euromoney.

How does cliënt management
within a matrix system work?
Who 'owns' the cliënt? What
should be driving force behind
RI's organizational structure -
clients or products? These and
more were under discussion at
the workshop on cliënt
relationship management.
Building on the revitalized
CAM concept, participants
debated responsibility and
authority under health care
global business manager Arnold
Kuijpers' chairmanship. Again,
you'11 find the overheads in the
public folders of your intranet.
Plans are well advanced for a
committed recruitment drive
for top R&A specialists in the
autumn. The drive meshes with
a number of
initiatives driven
by the global
F&A
management team
to build enhanced
expertise. Peter
Greenberg, the
global business
manager, and Flip
Goudsmit will be
setting up the
drive and they
explained tactics
during a dedicated
workshop on the
role of tailored
human resources strategies for
F&A. In our next issue
(August) of What's NewS, we
have extensive coverage on this
important topic, so we're not
duplicating here. Don't miss the
August issue.
Country limits are always a
hot topic at any international
gathering of Rabobankers,
hut what about country
risks? Leendert Colijn and
Wim Boonstra's clear
explication of all the factors
involved in determining both
risks and limits won the
soubriquet: most informative
presentation. It you'd like a
copy of the overheads that
go with this presentation -
bullets only, but they still
provide a picture - check out
the public folder on RICO -
all overheads can be accessed
there.
'Workshop formula was great',
'More than enough time built
in for discussions', 'Great
opportunity to network', and
'Very well organized...' These
are just a few of the comments
made by participants on the
Antwerp RICO. And this
positive response is all down
to the organizing team -
Nicolienne van Hoeve, Louise
Verbeek and Bram Kruimel of
NDS. The fact that over 120
people involved in no less than
11 different activities, more or
less simultaneously, went off
without a hitch is a tribute to
their skills and patience -
thanks a million to all three...
Keeping track of 120 people at any
one of 11 given locations,
handling messages, faxes, flights,
food, and everything else that
goes to make a successful event -
Nicolienne van Hoeve, Bram
Kruimel and Louise Verbeek were
always there
