NETWERKEN
|pgg.- Corporate Division in
Sydney heeft onlangs
haar eerste Rl conferentie in Australië
georganiseerd, over commodity finance.
23 afgevaardigden uit 15 kantoren kwamen
daarvoor naar Sydney. Volgens Jan Remie
leverde de conferentie vooral op het gebied
van netwerken veel op. De deelnemers
werden ook het binnenland ingevlogen
waar zij een kijkje konden nemen bij de
katoenoogst en op een typisch Australische
schapenfarm.
ginning operations. As the cotton was
being harvested, it was a most opportune
visit. The cotton picking was followed by
a visit to the Henderson's property at
Scone to show the delegates an Australian
sheep property.
To complete the visit in a single day, a few
small planes were hired. Colly has a dirt
landing strip and some delegates thought
that there must have been an emergency
which was forcing the planes to land on a
road! After some quick explanations, their
panic was overcome and they then firmly
gripped their seats until the landing was
completed.
'The conference proved to be an important
networking forum for the participants who
were able to discuss developments in trade
and commodity finance in the region as
well as developing the Rabobank Group's
capacity to handle 'both ends'of a trade
finance transaction,' says Jan Remie, vice
president and senior area manager Asia,
International Trade Finance.

Rabobankers from these regions had an
excellent opportunity to see first hand
where many of their countries imports

Corporate cliënt Colly Cotton Limited

Risk managers from all over the network met
on 14 and 15 April for the Market Risk
Control Conference at Weybridge (UK).The
conference was organized by Central Market
Risk Control (CMRC).This department
monitors risks linked with the trading
activities of Rabobank International.The
conference's main objective was to develop
a shared vision of the role of Market Risk
Control (MRC).One of the most provoking
issues was whether a risk manager should
move from a pure controller function
towards a more consultative role.
