People Babo band Progress Rabobank Group in the first half-year of 1988 RaDO band In the last six months a number of changes and appointments have taken place at the Foreign Offices Department of the Inter national Division in Utrecht. Tel (030) 902811/902835 Rabobank all over the world The Rabobank Group recorded a succesful first half-year in 1988. Business activities grew vigorously, whilst costs were kept well in check. The ratio of income to expenses consequently im- proved considerably, as did profit before provisions and taxes. Net profit rose by 15% (1987: down by 6%). Issue 2/September 23, 1988 Gyula Vigh van Ujvaros left the Foreign Offices Department to become General Manager of the Private Customers Marketing Department within the Member Banks Sector in Eindhoven. His place at the editorial staff has meanwhile been filled by Cees van Rest, Liaison Officer at Foreign Offices Department. Ad Middelburg will succeed Gyula in the position of Senior Liaison Officer. Hans Uppelschoten joined the Foreign Offices Department early February. He will isist the department, the branches and affiliates in budgeting, reporting and com- posing management information. In April, Hans van Zanten joined the Foreign Offices Department as System Manager of the International Division. ADCA-BANK During the first half year many important changes took place at ADCA-BANK. In the next issue more detailed information will be given on this. As of May 1, Hans van der Velde was appointed member of the Executive Board (Vorstand), üntil then he had been General Manager of the Düsseldorf Branch. Gert Z. Otto was appointed to succeed him at the Düsseldorf Branch. He used to be General Manager of the Rabobank in Hellendoorn-Nijverdal. Pierre Vorage, who has been working for the Rabobank Foundation in Indonesia, ?s been appointed Director of ADCA- ,aNK in Frankfurt. The demand for finance on the part of the agricultural sector was again very buoyant. Lending to the small and medium-sized business sector, also saw considerable growth. The demand for loans by large corporations remained sub- dued. New York Gordon Arnold was appointed General Manager of the Dallas Loan Production Office as of June 1. This office started its op- erations in July. He used to be Senior Vice President with the Texas Commerce Bank. Dee Thomson has been appointed Senior Account Manager with the Loan Production Office in San Francisco. This of fice started its operations in July. He used to be Vice-President with CIC Agribusiness Services Corporation. Paris André Bar, Senior Account Manager with the London Branch, has been appointed General Manager of the representative of fice in Paris as of January 1, 1988. In that capacity he will succeed Jacqueline Ie Moignier who returns to the International Division in Utrecht. Luxembourg Ab van Hienen was appointed General Manager of the Luxembourg office. At the moment he works with the Treasury Division in Utrecht. Switzerland Hoyte Sillevis Smitt was appointed General Manager of the banklike finance company Rabolnvest Management Ltd. in Zürich.
