Despite difficult market conditions, in 1983 the Kok Group was again
able to improve its results. A change in the organization bundled the
various activities of the group in the commercial real estate sector in
order to respond better to the specific requirements of this market
segment.
The sales of the construction company Gebam, partly owing to the
mild winter, increased from Dfl 57 million in 1982 to Dfl 70 million in
1983. The continuing depressed market situation, accompanied by
underpricing in the construction industry however, checked company
results.
Internal business developments and employee policies
In March 1983, the relocation of the Head Office from Amsterdam to
Utrecht became a fact. After a short period of settling in we are
pleased to note that the new accomodations fulfill all expectations
regarding both communications and efficiency, as well as the general
working atmosphere.
In the year under review, once again much attention was paid to
upgrading the skills of our employees, by stimulating courses and
advanced training on an individual or group basis. We intend to
continue this training program in 1984.
