FGH BANK: PROFILE
FGH Bank specializes in the financing of commercial real estate and as a result
has extensive in-house expertise in this field, including all of the relevant
disciplines, ranging from real estate law to taxation. The bank also has an in-house
Valuation Research Department, which is staffed by real estate analysts,
valuers and building consultants. In addition, all of these disciplines are covered by
account managers, who are responsible for maintaining customer relationships.
The bank's customer base is made up primarily of developers and institutional
and private investors in commercial real estate. Its customers range from small-
and medium-sized companies to large corporates and listed real estate funds.
As at the end of December 2002, FGH Bank had 151,2 full-time equivalents.
With a head office in Utrecht and branches in the main real estate regions,
FGH Bank has a national presence. Through this network of offices there are strong
links with local markets, enabling its staff to identify customer needs at an early
stage and also to respond effectively to market developments. The combination of
this market know-how and its in-house expertise enables FGH Bank to offer a
competitive and customized service.
FGH Bank is part of FTVB Real Estate Bank AG. HVB Group is one of the largest
banks in Europe and has operations in virtually every EU country, Eastern Europe
and the USA. As a result, FGH Bank is able to arrange large transactions rapidly
and has an extensive international network.
As a real estate bank, FGH Bank sees its role as financing the real estate industry
rather than as operating in the market as a developer or construction company
itself. An example of the bank's involvement in the real estate market is the
annual FGH Real Estate Report. In addition to giving FGH Bank's views on the
real estate market and reviewing trends in the market, this publication also
provides a detailed description of regional and local market trends. Once every
two years, the bank also awards the FGH Vastgoedprijs [FGH Real Estate Award],
Since its introduction in 1989, the prize has become the most prestigious award
for outstanding achievement in the Dutch real estate market.
FGH Bank also has two subsidiaries. FGH Vastgoed Expertise provides general real
estate advice, in the form of valuations, portfolio analysis, market research and
legal and fiscal advice. It also provides advice on finding premises, and on
relocation and investment strategies. FGH Real Estate Asset Management acquires
and manages real estate funds and properties, particularly for domestic and foreign
institutional investors.
